Almost any BMX style bicycle with 20-inch wheels will get you started in BMX racing. Many younger riders have tried BMX at Shady Lane with 16-inch wheeled bikes. Mountain bikes will also give you an idea what it is like to ride on a cool BMX track. Remove kickstands, reflectors, and any freestyle pegs. Make sure all the fasteners are tightened properly. We have pad sets that we can loan you to give it a try for your first time. The best part of BMX is getting out on the track and having fun, and you don't need an expensive bike to do that!
